I think you're right. Contributors to this thread, by definition, care about the paper and what they did on it. Candidates who made a real pig's ear of the whole paper and have consequently concluded only that the world is unfair, are somewhere else...

I'm here clutching at straws, trying to gather some hope. Like hope that the answer to 6 7 and 8 were nice white clean paper.

I found that to be a 'friendly' paper but the other candidate at my centre found it very hard.

    Q1(a) 0.5arcsin2x-(1/4)rt[1-4x^2]+C
    (b)0.372

    Q2:Proof?

    Q3 (6pia^2)/5

    Q4(a)Proof
    (b)(1/4)(e^2-1)

    Q5:Proof?

    Q6: Proof?

    Q7:Proof? 2rt3 for c.

Q8: Proof but the answer to the last part was +-ln[(1/2)(3+rt5)]

4b was the application of the reduction formula.

I thought it went suprisingly well. I managed to prove q6 (integral of x arcosh x dx between x=1 and x=2 iirc) (I used substitution x=cosh u after realising parts would take all night). I suprised mysaelf, I am by far the weakest in my FM class and I haven't a clue what I will have been predicted.

The only ones I know I didn't get were the first intrinsic one (s = 4sin (t/2) iirc, I got it with cos2t and a sint or something like that) and proving the logrithmic form of arsech x. There is probably a cunning way of doing it but I couldn't remember it.
