Edexcel C3 Jun 05 - How Did It Go? watch

1. Tbh although the paper wasnt easy by any means i dont think it was that hard imo, was overall a fair paper with a decent mix of questions... i can see the ums marks being quite competitive this year especially considering alot of fm people have sat this paper aswell but o well can only wait till 18th august to find out!

if u put both -3/4 n -1/6 for that mod one u think they will reject it over all or just drop a few marks?
You'll probably lose one mark.

Who isn't doing f/maths who took C3 today?? (just to get an idea how competitive the UMS scores will be)...

If we're unlucky then 57/75 for 80UMS. It's more likely to be around 55, since C1 and C2 were only 60/75 and 61/75 for 80UMS, despite being so easy.

Exactly! I always make stupid bloody mistakes so those questions are a godsend, really.
6. Another advantage with those questions is that if you cant do the first part and the second part is hence or somethig etc ur not completely up that well known creek

Indeed
8. i put that trig eqn = zero hope its right

It is. It initially gave an equation which was equal to 3, what you had to do was bring it over and substitute for one you had to prove earlier in the question, then substitute that for sinθ(√52sinθ - 3) = 0

I cant remember the exact equations but this is wat i did
10. so what will the grader boundaries be (v roughly???)

a = 0.588. The easy way to check is tana = 2/3.

R = 2√13 = √52
17. loop
18. thx

It wasn't that hard. C1 and C2 were extremely easy. The old P1 boundaries used to be 65/75 for 80UMS. Inexplicably, the far easier C1 had grade boundary 60/75 for 80UMS.

I think it follows that C3 will have similar boundary to P3, which would be 57/75 at the highest.
