Howas the Edexcel C2 paper? watch

1. hey ppal..
how did u find the c2 paper..? i guess it was easy... im glad.. it went well.. thought if someone could post the answers.. and.. discuss... more...
waiting for ur replys...
2. C2 was easy! Yeah, someone pls post the answers so we can compare...
3. it was ok although some questions were tricky...it couldve been a lot worse. What did u get for the area of R in the last question?
4. logs... for the first part, 5^x=8... i got something like 1.xxxx

and for the second part i got 1/6!

cross sectional of water thingy, i got 42.something... and for the next part 120m x 42.something = watever...

area OF R for the last q, 6.75

for the geometric series thingy, i did 35,000x 1.04^3 for part b,
39370.24= 39400, but for the next part i am not sure, but i did:

35000(1-1.04^20)/(1-1.04)= 1042232.75= £1042000

Some1 plz clarify the thing in bold!.. is it n=19 or n=20 as i have done!

circle centre, point A, (5, 0)

circle crossing x axis, (1,0), (9,0)

equation of l= y= -2/7x + 10/7

thats all i remember for now..

Nirav
5. Haha nice one, you memorised the answers

I got the same answers, so I'm pretty sure we're correct, as I felt fairly confident about that question.
6. hey.. yeah ive got almost .. same answers.. rest of the questions.. wer easy..
but. errrrrr.. i put n=19... instead of .. 20.. am i wrong? but overall paper was good... im .. satisfied... hope for an A in math..
7. agree with all the answers above

equation in circle question however was: y = -(2/7)x + (10/7) [and not /3]

n was 20. We should still get the method marks though, even if we put 19.
9. thx.. changed to x/7 from x/3!
10. that sin question of the triangle, the second part where it asked for the 2 values of x, i know it was something like 33.7 deg, and then 180-33.7= 146.3
[not saying they are the actual 2, but it was something like that.]

But i am not sure whether they wanted the 2 angles in degrees or in radians, as i wrote them down in degrees!
11. EDIT: i think the angle they gave us was in degrees radians, so our answer should have been degrees radians as well

no.. the original angle was in radians!! 0.5^c i think it was!
13. sorry, may be i got mixed up there.... anyways I would have put it in the same 'unit' as they'd given it... (or at least i sure hope i did!!!)
14. Yeh all those answers seem right, it is definately n = 20 for the geometric.
Last Q was def 6.75 , logs q was 1.29,
second part of logs was 1/6
1st trigonometric was 50, 110
2nd trigonometric q was 77.1, and around 150(cant remember exactly!)
triangle q was 0.57, 2.56 (very roughly) in radians[B]
1st q was 3, 18(roughly) maybe -18 but cant remember
the circle q was 5,0 for the centre, and radius was 4, normal to tangent was y=-2/7x + 10/7
binomial expansion question was p=-2, q=24

I thought the paper was very good, nothing there was hard, but still not many gift marks.
15. Yup, that's what I got... =D

Yay! Thanks boxexpansion
16. Aright ... feels good when u know ur answers are all correct........

Hey question, anybody. For this question I wrote out the equation, and substituted the numbers in correctly - but inputted 1.6 as 0.6 into the calculator so got 39.86. I'm guessing I would get the method marks as only the answer was incorrect. But because part c) used part b), and my answer to part b) was incorrect, this meant that part c) was also wrong but my method was correct and the answer to c) was right for the wrong answer to b) which I used.

So how many marks would you think I'd have lost for this question?

I agree with ur answers.
19. does anyone have like a "marking scheme like" list of answers for C2?
20. argh. If everyone found the paper easy that means the UMS is going to be pretty low. I did the C2 as a resit but didn't have time to revise and therefore forgot most of the stuff for the circle question. I think I got everything else right though... but if the UMS is low, my mark of 79 probably won't improve.
