    What was the flow rate? was it 520m3min-1??


    P.s. if the test has NOT been taking yet in some areas, could a Mod plz let me know, so I dont post somthing that may be considered cheating :eek:

    I got -3/4, I think - I know it's wrong because I substituted it back in and it didn't come out right and then I just moved onto another question.

    Did anyone get p = -2 (think that's what I got) for that binomial question?

    Forgot how to differentiate ½lnx!!! - I should have practice differentiation lnx questions! Also couldn't do the last question on the Trig section.

    Anyways I thought the paper was fairly easy overall.

    i got two vaules for that question, -1/6 and -3/4..... (but as there was only meant 2 be one value im guessin ur right.)

    was the area question 2/2/3 + 2 ln 3

    and then part b) just 2 ln 3

    I have to say, an incredibly easy paper.

    As predicted, all my favourite stuff came up, binomial, trapezium rule and volumes of revolution, etc.

    For the binomial question I got p=-2, and q=24.

    Could anyone do question 8a? It was pretty much the only part of the paper I didn't have a clue of how to approach.

    pi (8/3 + 2ln3)

    something like that, dont know if ive remembered it correctly.

    What about the logs questoin. what you get for
    1) (b)

    and the trig... can you remember what you got for tan theta?
    and part c) solve the trig eqution - can anyone remember their values?

    For f(x)=|x-1|-2=5x, I think the answer is -3/4 (edit: the correct answer is -1/6).

    For the water flow question, I got the cross-sectional area as 43.86m^2 and the volume in a minute as 5260m^3 to 3sf.

    I wouldnt say easy but i found it better than the jan one cos i actually revised this time. i thought that x=-1/6 in the f(x)=5x question... plugged it back in and it worked. there mite have been 2 solutions tho cos i saw a past paper where there were 2. any1 confirm that.

    volume of S i got pi(8/3 + 2ln3) might have been minus cant remember
    pi/6 5pi/6 for the solving trig bit (think there was another solution tho.)
    1.29 for 1 a)
    1/6 for 1 b)
    one of my graphs looked like a W.
    and for tanθ i think got something dodgy like -1/3√3

    cant really remember much else. lol messed up the volume of water and couldnt remember volume of a cone so lift out the second part of the integration question.( think it coulda bin done another way but i wanted to get on to the trig asap)

    wot did u lot get for your answers?

    With f(x)=5x, I'm almost certain it was -(1/6) because if the graph didn't have the modulus function in it, it would meet 5x at further left (smaller x value)

    since I got -(3/4) and -(1/6) it had to be the latter.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    i thought it was a fair paper- not too hard not too easy!
    did ne one get p=-2 and q=-4

    I did p3 a few weeks ago - it was a killer, this seemed easier although i could have done with an extra 10mins or so to finish it! But it could have been worse a lot worse.

    Hows doing S2 od wednesday? its an afternoon exam which gives me all morning to revise yay! but b4 that its bio and tech no all day 2morra which is a bummer since i have yet to do ne revision for the latter! hehehe

    Did neone notice that theyve added exta formulas into the booklet this year! how exciting! lol

    I don't think it could have been -24 otherwise you would have had to use the other formula needed for P3 to expand it.
