    hey guys some of u might have seen me lurking around in music threads recently, cos i just joined TSR recently and just exploring around.. im very keen on music, the arts and humanities..

    im tryin to join as much music society as i can..

    I haven't posted on this thread for a while. I have the great fortune to be going to Salzburg later on this year (for all you Mozart nuts), I've never been the greatest Mozart fan (although one has to simply respect his accomplishment in so many fields of composition) but it will be great to see some of the 250th anniversary stuff there.

    wolfgang amadeus mozart.. greatest musician ever lived, or in my opinion.

    actually, since i live in south east asia, there are quite a lot of mozart nuts out there. in thailand, there are two professional austrian musicia, a pianist and a violinist, coming to play mozart pieces in BKK.. i want to go!!

    i like the way salieri acts..

    i love the part when mozart is playing the piano showing off, u know? simply cool. i'll live to 100 and i wont be able to do those things..

    I think it's really ironic in Amadeus... Mozart and Salieri are the composers and Mozart is better, but both actors were nominated for oscars and the guy who played Salieri won :p: (and deservedly so imo)

    Can I join?

    I mainly play classical on the piano (failed grade 8 last year by 4 marks ), and my favourite piece to play is "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven. I'm trying to pluck up the courage to make a start on the third movement

    Clarinet concerto and quintet
    The Marriage of Figaro
    Piano concertos

    everything!!
