Rant: I dislike the way that nowadays if you mention Clair de Lune people say "oh that one from Twilight?"

You HAVE GOT to be kidding me!!! That is blasphemous. When you mention Clair De Lune people should say Debussy and the Bergamasque Suite, hell, even Moon Light!!!!

I cant believe that people refer to it "as from Twilight"

CLAIR DE LUNE WAS COMPOSED WAY BEFORE!!!!!!!!!

Clara Rockmore, immense. Just listening to Tchaikovsky's Serenade Melancolique on the theremin, it's soooo good.

When it was on BBC 4 a few weeks ago, I was following the Leeds International Piano Competition. However, I missed the last one because I went on holiday that evening. Imagine my shock a week later when I discovered it was absent from BBC iPlayer! Has anyone got any idea as to how I can watch the last one?
What did anyone else think of the series? It's introduced me to music that I hadn't heard before

I'm listening to Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau singing the Schwanengesang, and it suddenly made me think of the Classical Soc and scratching my head as to why there aren't more like minded souls around.

PS: Fischer-Dieskau is amazing, but I came across an interesting Winterreise not so long ago, sung by Brigitte Fassbaender - if anyone else can find it, it's well worth a listen!

It is indeed, a symphonic poem if you want to be specific. Great piece, and very very Russian! :yep: What were you playing in it?

    You win for this reason:

Mmmm Mahler 1. Great tune. ******* to play. Sow. High. Could it be any worse? I had to play this at the Liverpool Phil and I practically **** myself.

If I win for anything I think its this...
