It will be the summer solstice. This is when the Sun is at its furthest from the celestial equator are called the summer and winter solstices and these occur in mid-summer and mid-winter.

Don't know if this will help the weather to be cooler or hotter, but muggy nights are annoying.

Just thought I'd say something in here for a change.

I don't get solstices... but if its furthest from the equator I assume that means it will be cooler which is always good news  Ah well..

Edit: Just remembered the solstice is the longest day (longest daylight hours) of the year

Which means it can be hotter by having been exposed to more infra-red radiation (heat) from the Sun for longer periods of time. Would hate to spend much time in the Greenhouse tomorrow (though I don't have one personally).

Yeah longest day of year, my exams end tomorrow with a King Lear, waheyyyyyy. Anyway, I shall be having a major blow out, sitting there thinking 'it's ****ing 11pm and its still not dark' - and to me that's not natural. Then again, the amount I shall be drinking tomorrow will also not be natural.

it should make it cooler because we have now passed the point of the northern hemisphere being closest to the sun. although...it's normally hotter in summer.

Hours of light is what affects temperature. Our distance from the sun doesn't vary enough for it to be really noticable.
