Were you ever given more than a firm telling off?
I got smacked a few times...Not in the past 5 years though.

I have mate in America, who gets paddled.I'd never heard of it till recently, and we were on the phone, and he mentioned it jokingly. I was suprised, tbh.

My parents stopped hitting me once I got big enough to hit them back. As far as I'm concerned it didn't do me any harm. As long as it is punishment and not just arbitary abuse it has a purpose.

never got hit or smacked really maybe a slap on the wrist if i snatched something - dont know if my parents had a ny strong views about it, the way i was brought up/the way i am just meant that there was never any need...
