I have an English Lit exam tomorrow and I'm just wondering if someone can tell me what this quote means...

    Act 4 Scene 5 line 101.

LEAR: "They told me I was everything; 'tis a lie, I am not ague-proof"

    and

    Act 5 Scene 2 lines 9-11

GLOUCESTER: "Men must endure their going hence even as their coming hither: Ripeness is all"

Also... it's a closed book examination... how many quotes do you recommend to memorise?

Lear had lived a life completely buffered from social reality; with terrible suddenness and violence, he is made to confront that reality. Madness may be a kind of natural stage in the healing process for anyone so abruptly and mercilessly educated. He realises he was not everything.

"Men must endure their going hence even as their coming hither: Ripeness is all"
something to do with freshness? Like a new lease? not sure
