Yeh the book says xylem and phloem
Thats what i put down in the exam...
Is GP the same as GPA or is it glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate?
In the context of the question it didnt matter as both are formed from RUBP and can reform RUBP (ultimately).?

Much to my suprise I found Unit 5 much better than unit 4! I hated the essay question on unit 4 on the parts of the brain.
But most of 5 was ok, loads of 4 and 5 mark questions! There seems to be alot of confusion whether its phloem/xylem. Personally I put xylem but I have nooooo idea.
Wasn't too fond of all those yeast questions on 4 (microbiology option) and the hyphae growth but I've never really liked that section.

yeah the unit 5 was alright, was pushed for time tho - didnt have any time at all to read it through again... seriously though how many 5 mark questions were there!!

for the last q and why the graphs changed i did it at the last min but in the writing at the top of the graph it said how soil became drier so i talked about stomata closing and guard cells etc... also i hope phosphoglyceric acid and glycerate-3-phostphate are the same thing!!?? that farming methods essay was random - wud have prefered like ads and disads of chemical control pests but oh well... also there were NO gene questions on inheritance! i literally spent a million hours learning all those definitions.... i was lucky in the synoptic that i had revised all that stuff.

so yeah i thought was fineee as it could have been so much worse!!!
aggghhhh got to now go learn my whole geography synoptic folder!! this week is a complete killer.

I am VERY suprised at the total lack of genetic inheritance questions!! (not complaining though).
It leads me to think that it might be in unit 6...

I bet the grade boundaries soar!

It wasn't the most impossible paper, but I sure as hell haven't got an A

Unit 4c- I couldn't remember what to treat people with TB with, so I said to put them all in isolation!

I'm pretty pleased - it went much better than I though it would. Synoptic was a dream, 'cos it was all stuff you could ******** your way through really. It could have been so much worse, I reckon *touch wood* I got at least Bs on both papers How you could write 10 marks about the brain is beyond me though! Anyone else do option B food science?

I couldn't find enough to write! I was just like, yeah cerebellum posture groups of skilled cooridinated movements, medulla reflex things, cerbral cortex speech, memory, conciousness. Here, have a really bad diagram of the brain... Ooops!

lol, two phases of drug therapy over at least 6 months. Antibiotics and anti-tuberculosis drugs.

I must say I found these two papers quite tricky. Everything that came up (apart from damn primers) I had revised, but a lot of the questions were not all that specific. From my past experience of biology exams, even though you think you got everything right (and most probably did get the general ideas) the marks are difficult to get. I was so sure I got an A for AS and got a low B. I think biology papers are v difficult to judge.

I didn't give many functions of each, I wrote one side for cerebral hemispheres, one for medulla and three lines for cerebellum(!)
