What is IPTV?

Getting a TV soon for university with intergrated Freeview channels. I think I will need an aeriel however the website stated that Maple Bank (the accomodation place I am hoping to get) uses IPTV which requires no aerial which confuses me as I have NO idea about TV's lol

Could someone set me straight, perhaps someone who has a TV with intergrated Freeview channels to explain how to set up a TV in their flat?

Thanks

I don't know for certain about having a TV, but what they do offer as part of the internet packages, though it does cost, is being able to watch TV and freeview channels (not sure which ones as I don't have it personally but I think about 40 channels or something) on your computer and therefore you would not need an aerial to connect the two but think you probably need an aerial if you want a proper TV and they have aerial sockets installed in the walls so presume you would neeed one.

Thanks for that! Been reading about IPTV and I think I'd rather use my TV.

IPTV Is Internet Protocol Television.

Instead of using an aerial TV signal will be delivered via the internet. Similar to Cable TV.

It makes no difference to you, you simply plug in your Coaxial cable into the wall port and put the other end in your TV.
