8th July. Very formal and fancy. Posh dresses for the girls and djs for the guys. It is such a great event as we have it in a beautiful hotel and all the teachers come and evreyone dances and drinks together. I really can't wait. Going for the final dress fitting on saturday. Yes and a lot of the girls get their dresses specially made or fitted at dress shops. I am very excited!!

Our prom is going to be a painful embarrassment. It's on a boat.

But get this - it's an all girls' school. We're allowed to invite a guest, but it's going to be mind blowingly uncomfortable with everyone bringing people that most others don't know (it's a very small school - we all know each other.)

We have to wear formal dress and we are all being searched for alcohol and cigarettes upon entry to the boat. It's going to be le pain. I am certianly not looking forward to it.

Leaver's Ball on 9th July. Very formal, black tie event. All the year 11s (which is me) have to bring at least one parent. Sucks poo! Parents can buy drinks though, if they let you have them. The ball has people from year 11, 12 and 13 which is cool, because we all know each other. We're not allowed to bring a guest though. I think there's gonna be a meal, yuuum, lol (I hope).

Our proms next friday (1st July) and at my school its something that everyone looks forward to for the whole of year 11 (ok.. slightly sad!)... loads of people are going in limos to make it more formal/memorable (including me and my friends). We're all getting ready together and then there's a 3/4 hour bit for parents too where they can see us all in our dresses etc and then they leave and we go to the proper prom in the main hall. Its being held at the Great Hall (where many concerts take place - most recent Keane) which is HUGE! Its mainly organised by the head boy/girl who make sure they know everyones opinions (through questionnaires etc). We're all 15/16 so no alcohol for us and it finishes at 11 (kinda lame!) and there are virtually no after parties as everyone is so hyped about the prom itself! lol!

I had my year 11 one last night and now i'm sad coz it's all over - if you haven't had yours yet then make the most of it...it goes quickly!!

The teachers at my school were great - they organised it so well and most people came - well over 200 - even though you couldn't invite a date or anything (but we're a mixed comprehensive so it didn't really matter). They completely changed the school hall and it looked to cool with balloons and everything! At the end, everyone went outside for fireworks - it was amazing and I'll never forget it. The teachers didn't tell anyone anything beforehand though so everything was a surprise which made it better

I think we just lucky as we had really good heads of year to organise things

Awww...I wanna go and do it all again it was so fun!
