I mean the United Kingdom as a whole. Obvioously you could call him/her English, Scottish, Welsh, etc. Or even British. But what about the United Kingdom as a whole. Is there a term for that? I know this may seem dumb but I just thought of this and couldn't come up with an answer.

There isn't one, and on a related note, what do you call someone specifically from the United States? 'American' is hardly accurate.

its British. Without making reference to their Union nationalities, (i.e. English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish) the only thing you can call someone from the UK; or to refer to a number of people all with differing Union nationalities; is British or Briton.

Brit. The five last letters of your username sure identifies you as a person.

American is the official denonym for the United States, partially because they're the United States of America and partially because its a good mechanism of distinguishing between normal people (who say American) or ******* retarded ***** who say "USian".
