Rejection from Oriel through the post today. Thought the whole experience bit harsh. No character assessment, half the questions were based on things i hadn't done at school. The don laughed at me and told me to redo my forces diagram five times! haha

Oxford are being pretty mean to us TSR engineers this year!
Well done to those with offers though
Oh and Merry Christmas!
yeah i know it's odd because there didnt seem that many ppl there for interview-for st johns there were only 22 ppl for 8/9 places and that inlcuded ppl pooled from other colleges:confused:

At Oriel there were loads on the interview timetable. I haven't counted them but I'd estimate the number of applicants (incl. pooled and 2nd choice interviews) to be somewehere between 30 and 40 for 6 places.

Yes, I guess/hope so...thank you! I got a letter from my first choice college informing me another college will make me an offer and congratulating me on my success, but haven't heard from any other college...come on monday!
The letter said EEM, but who knows what the other college thinks

Congrats! I've got a friend who's a first year there and she absolutely loves it.

Well I go my rejection by post today. Can't say I'm suprised but I suppose you're always a bit disapointed when you get rejected...
Hopefully Imperial hurries up and makes the (right!! ) decision now!

congrats-that's impressive! they're really arent that many EEM places at all-isnt it something like 12 for the whole course?!

Does anyone understand how exactly the EEM admissions process works, or does it just vary by college? I was accepted to ES but told that I could apply to EEM at the end of first year, while some people at other colleges seem to have been directly admitted to EEM. No complaints, of course, but certainly a little confused. Thanks for any info!
well the first year of EEM is the same than the first year of ES. So basically, for the first year, everyone is ES, even those who got an offer for EEM.

At the end of the first year, you have exams. If you do ok on your exams (I mean you don't fail and do not have to resit one of them) then you can be accepted into EEM. You can even apply for EEM at the end of the first year if you were accepted for ES I believe.

This is because the economics and management part of it only starts in the second year...

I know what you mean, I was rejected from St Catz a week ago even though I didn't expect to get in... it was brutal

What kind of engineering did you apply for at Imperial?
