Got my letter of dismissal on Thursday... while in bed, having spent all night with my head in a bucket. Safe to say it didn't improve the mood!

Pretty horrified I didn't make the pass mark in the PAT considering I came out of the exam hall buzzing with confidence, having easily exceeded the grade on all the past papers... Oh well, life goes on!

Good luck to everyone with interviews anyway. Keep your head screwed on, interviews are more of a confirmation of what they already think than anything, so if it doesn't go exactly how you want it they WILL primarily look at the facts on paper. Everyone going for interview is a teenager with very limited interview experience after all, they don't expect a particularly polished performance!

Have a good time guys

I also got well off the mark (1 full SD) for interview on the past papers, which means I would have gotten an interview for sure. But, I'm still waiting for the letter XD

To Keble College Admission of course (sorry if I get the college wrong ) Don't worry too much, I even emailed them twice within 1 week before receiving the dreaded email. Have others from your college received theirs?

And did they tell you (by email) whether you were shortlisted or not?

does anyone have an interview for engineering science at Balliol on 16th?

I have one at Balliol on the 17th

They did. Late email doesn't really necessarily mean you're rejected although I understand your feelings :frown: . Just like in my case, they emailed me a week before interview (My interview is on the 13th).

They emailed you? Or did they just answer your email and told you it was on the 13th?

They answered my emails saying sth like we haven't heard from tutors yet, will tell you as soon as possible. The interview offer email came out unexpected as it should and noone can force it. They will only tell you whether you get interview offer in the official email, not by the email in response to your previous email. In any case, just email them to make sure you're up to date and they're not missing out on something

Yo fellow engineers-to-be!

How did you find your interviews? Personally, mine were terrible. :frown: Hopefully they will empathise with me, considering my school is pretty bad. I don't think my PAT was great either. :frown:

Hey! I hope this thread takes off. Would be nice to hear from others.

Haha, i think mine went pretty badly too. What college did you have yours at?

I shall add to this and say that mine went pretty badly as well...I'm glad that I'm not alone!
My first interview was quite bad but I think the second went better : )

Good to hear from some others!

I'm so curious about the weighting of the system; it seems to me as Oxford tend to favour the PAT and interviews much more heavily than A level grades.

I was interviewed in Magdalen anyone else?
It went really really badly
Just wondering what is you guys' definition of "bad" hehe  ? I know that you are exceptional candidates getting to this stage so your bad may mean "it's actually just fine".
