YESSS! I got 9 for the last answer as well. And negative skew. Woooo!

Best exam I've done so far hopefully it will make up for the disaster that was P3.
am getting depressed now! - got 9 initially, then changed it to 11 aftter redoing it aghhh - no uni for me this year
2. I'm so annoyed with myself! I made a stupid mistake in one of the questions that's gonna follow through (just a tad). :|

I really really needed to be aiming for the high 90s/100 for this one, so as to ensure my safety ahead of P6 and M4 next week!

3. hey its michael. wots up michael!

I got 9 for the last one. Minimum no. of people to not recover must be 11 for doctor's claim to be true. Therefore maximum number of people to recover must be 9 for doctors claim to be true. No?
4. can anyone remember their answers for all the other questions
5. ohhh...anyone know about the defective article question??

for part b there were only 2 marks....and i decided to keep using binomial all the way through...so added up 0,1,2,3,4 defective articles individually....

did u have to change it to poisson??

Aww don't worry! It could be 11! Who knows And if you got that question wrong then that was only 4 marks out of 75. You WILL get into uni!

Hey! :O
Nothing much...just exam crap. How'd you find the thing today?
8. wot were the answers to the first two parts of question 7?

Well, yeah. Cos they said use and justify a suitable approximation, i.e. X~Po(4)

So verdict?...grade boundaries will be 62-3/75 for an A methinks!!

I put 0.146 and do not reject H0
12. Hey! :O

I thought it was ok. As long as I get a B in it I should get an overall A.

I got:

mean = 1.07
median = 1.08
mode = 1.15

Last part of first question = 0.275 or something like that. I can't remember nething else :-\

were they not referring to using binomial since the outcome was either success or failure...ie defective or non defective

i know my method was right..as in it should work..although it took longer than 2marks' time worth. im just confused whether they wanted it done the poisson way
14. I worked out px=13 and found that that is 11%. greater than 0.05 so H0 not rejected. is this correct??

Yeah, same. Don't really remember last part of first question- standard deviation...?

that high?? the grade boundary was only 57/75 for june 2003 and that wasn't a very hard paper..
17. i made a really stupid mistake with correct y to z for <40 i did x<4 = y<35.5!! not 39.5 argh dunno what i was doing!!
I did that exact thing! Great minds think alike and all that

I didn't like that exam at all. I did something different from everyone else for the last question. Got the same answers as other people tho, so hope its marked right

Oh well, I can fail one subject. Just means I have to get As in everything else, so better go and start revising for my exam tomorrow

last year it was 64. this paper is quite similar in level to that 1 IMO..give or take 62 is the lowest i wud say
19. What did everyone get for the Uniform question - i think the last part
P(2.3 < x < 3.4)?

Also, what did people put as their to hypothesis - H0 and H1?
If you got the working out wrong, but put the hypothesis and also, despite the wrong working, got the bit about not rejecting H0 right...how many marks would you get for the 6 mark question?
20. I got 10 people for the last part! On the whole that paper was fine i just hope P4 P6 and M2 run as smooth or i've got no hope of an A after my performance in M3 and dismal D1...
