I'm really worried! Does anyone know the weightings for edexcel seperate science papers? Some people are telling me that the seperate science papers (although they have less total marks than the core) carry the same weightage as the core(40%-40%, with 20% coming from coursework). Is this true? Looking at other exam boards like OCR, the weighting of the extension paper seems to be less than that for the core, so now I'm really confused. If anyone knows, I would be eternally grateful for your help!

me too (edexcel), and I'm seriously panicking, because if the 40% thing is true, then every mark on the extension (which is the hardest) is worth one and 1/2 core paper marks!

i asked my teacher as i was also confused and here it is:

    Edexcel gcse sceince

The core is out of 90

    Extension is out of 60 (60 ×0.75 = 45)

    Coursework out of 30 /30×1.127= 34

    34+45+90= 169 total marks available
