sun burn over old spots (yuck!)

i used to have really bad spots on my back, they have cleared up as such but i have loads of marks where they used to be, i went out in the garden just now (well, for a ciouple hours) and my back has got sunburnt (ouch) i thought getting a tan would reduce the apperance of the "spot marks" but it seems to have intensified them and its really obvious- eek-- will this go down when the redness goes or have i doomed myself to never getting rid of the marks the spots left behind :frown: like little scars i guess... eeeeek

39 views and no replies so I wanted to make an effort, but, as i expect was the case of the other tsrians, i honestly dont know. You could try bio oil though to get rid of the scars, it is a miracle i tell you! You have to remember to apply it regularly though

They will probably fade after a while so don't worry about them. Moisturising may help if you want to speed up the fading.
The sun actually intensifies red marks and scars left by acne. Have you tried using lactic acid or glycocidic acid before? These help reduce the marks.

ok.bit of a pain really. i dont suffer from spots on my face or anywhere else thank god, just on my back- hurrrrrrr. ill just have to grin and bear it for the time being and keep my fingers crossed :frown: bit short of cash so when i get some more will check out the bio oil stuff heard of that before. where do u get lactic/glycocidic acid from-chemist?
You can get it from health shops and stuff, but ebay is the best, and the cheapest.

I think bio oil will help.Try to use shower gels with tiny things in it, like scrubs.

okay ill hope that as the skin gradually gets worn away it will go but i'd still rather it was sooner than later. i'm going on holiday to menorca in a couple of weeks, should i be extra careful with sun tan lotion or will it not make a difference if it gets blasted with sun?

sun should help. also you may try to use lemon juice on these marks, because lemon is a bleach and will lighten ur skin, so ur marks will be lightened.

yes you should be extra careful with sun tan lotion on old scars and marks becaues the skin's defences are already weeker....you should *try* your best not to get them sun burnt ever again!

if you tan yourself slowly....they should fade.
