# How did you guys found the M2? (OCR) watch

1. Apparently there are 2 papers in M2, if you had retake your M1 in Jan, you will be in the new system.

Some questions are the same in both paper but some aren't.

I was taking the 4729 one(new system) and found it quite difficult. The last questions about projectile is quite nice but won't help me to pull my marks to pass this paper.....
2. I did it just then, not too sure which question though

4. Q1 is about centre of mass and basic trigonometry, I got 9.6
Q2 - Energy I think it was, I got root 200 as the answer for the first part and got 4 (this is wrong, should be 14.1)
Q3 - circular movement, forgot what I put down.
Q4 - that was the rigid object question i think (this was hard!), i got 98N for the first part and 98N for part 2, with angle of 36.x below horizontal
Q5 - Collision, 1/5 for e, impulse as 4m towards the direction of B and I proved collision does occur again 1>4/5
Q6 - Power one, I got 445 for first part, proved the 2nd part and 0.2xxx for the retardation
Q7 - The first part was easy so lets no go into that, the last part i got the difference in distance as 109m I think, the angles to be 22.7 and 7x.x

I think you are doing the Old system's paper

Hmm....some questions answer seems familiar...
but i think my paper got one more question than yours.

It was about a Metal Cube next to a sheet of wood with pivot thingy in it... no idea how to do that.....
6. Overall the paper was a pain in the butt, it happens to have a rigid object question which could never do. I put at of guessing work into it so fingers crossed.
7. how does your answer compare to mine? I'm kind of shaky on the paper.

Q5 - Got the exact same answer for Resitution and reason for 2nd collion
Q7 - First part proving -no problem, the angles seems different a bit from you... I think i got 3x.x and 8x.x, so my distance was round 14x.x m

not quite sure about other questions though

Not really...Method came first, answer came second. You would get ecf for last part anyway.

So maximum penality would be 2 marks only I guess.
11. I need 93% on m2 to even have a chance of securing my A...
12. The difference in distance was 140, what were the distance A1 and A2? I sort of knew something was wrong when comparing the scales to the diagram

q2) got root 200 yay! lol.
q3) i proved the tension, got like 3.94? rads.
q4) lol tension for the first i got 400N lol i dnt kno for the 2nd got 1600N! missed the last part
q5) got the same E value, got 4m too and got the collision one yeah cos 1> 0.8 so will collide again.
q6) i got like 350KJ! lol! totally got that wrong. proved b and got like -0.295 for the retardation.
q7) got the first part, got a quadratic for the 2nd part but was too dumb and dind't solve it! tried to rearrange, looked silly so i left it. then i just used θ's to show the last part as to how i would've worked it out, hopefully giving me some marks.

overall the paper wasn't TOO bad.....cudve been much worse but hmmmm i don't know!

A1 is 22x
A2 is 7x

Was question 2 the raindrop one? If so, did you get the raindrops to be really fast? 14.1 rings a bell but Im not sure if its for that question.
20. yeah i got 14.1 for the raindrops, but my friend got like 170+!!!! i was like.........erm.......yeah i don't know.......lol.
