Yes. It's in London.

However, as long as you don't go looking for trouble it's no more dangerous than any other bit of london.

Some bits of it, the east end mostly, look pretty and safe, some bits don't. But really, that doesn't matter.

The same as many places in London, has a bit of a bad rep cos of its past. Obviously there are "rougher" areas throughout London, but common sense is usually pretty good for avoiding trouble hotspots

Well what i know of, its full of People from asian backgrounds, and there is alot of crime going on not the highest but not the lowest just a fair amount all depending were abouts your moving in, closer to hackney side or liverpool street side. Its got a mixed thing there, lots of clubs and bars available down them areas.

I went to school around Bethnal Green, and whenever I'm in London I often go to Brick Lane or Whitechapel, and I've never had a problem.

Some of my friends from school who are/were the "gangsta" type often told people to hide their phones in their socks, but whenever I was with them, no-one approached us... :holmes:

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I just bricked myself just by the sight of the words BETHNAL GREEN

Joking aside... Bethnal Green (not the Tube) station is pretty derelict, no?

Reply 6

It's London, hardly as dangerous as some people think.

Reply 7

It was worse 70 odd years back. Had looters, spivs and to top it all off bombs dropping on ya on a nightly basis.

I hate the place myself though even though Leyton and Whitechapel are a lot lot worse.

Reply 8

I go around the Mile End are a lot, and have never had any trouble at all.

It's quite nice. Just don't end up dressed as a whore on Halloween alone near guys and traffic. On the flipside, I might be the only possible person stupid enough to do it!

Why do these threads always come down to 'I've been fine' or "My mates...".

I would invite you to the Bow Quarter or Canary Wharf or Wapping but they might not let you in.

I've never really been around the area much but haven't heard of anything dangerous or particularly bad with Bethnal Green. Seems nice enough and safe

i guess it's got a fairly bad rep cos it's close to Hackney and Bow....

Hey, I should be moving into Bethnal Green from Kennington soon.

Is it dangerous?

Cheers

Not really, if you're sensible.

A damn sight nicer than South London too, if I might add :top2:

compared to kennington? you'll be fine.

I live in hackney, but go out in BG all the time. Just dont lock your nice bike up outside a pub for more than 30mins and you'll be fine....In fact, dont take out a nice bike. buy a piece of s**t!!!!

Chillax fella.

I've lived here (Shoreditch/Bethnal Green) for about 5 years never had an issue apart from lippy kids from the estate once. If you mind your own the druggies and dealers will give you a wide birth. My male and female friends have never had a problem either.

The night life is the best in London and thus the country. No question.

Is club row market still on. (a road off Bethnal Green road)

My grandad back in the day when cockney was still spoken and men still wore flat caps used to sell or buy the odd stuff down there.
