No offence but how do you know that Katie hasnt been on the receiving end of some news? How do you know she hasnt been in a similiar situation? The initial post sounded like she was going to tell her friend about the cancer returning and Katie obviously felt strongly that she shouldnt do that. Personally i thought it was a dumb post initially.(Original post by AMM)
You aren't dying of cancer though. Have some sensitivity to the situation, it isn't just some random person gossiping about another random persons random medical condition.

It didn't sound anything like that. She clearly said in the first post that her friend knew. I'm not passing judgment on Katy or anyone, I just feel that some of you have been unfair on moo. Quite a few of you jumped on her and assumed for no clear reason that her friend didn't know and that she was just gonna dive in and say, 'hey, so, ya mum's got cancer again', when her friend didn't already know. I feel a bit sorry for her, the girl's done nothing wrong for God's sake!

God, the obvious thing to do here is nothing more than simple manners.
If your friend asks if you know, she is being improper by asking you a question you cannot answer; so if she asks, the only response you can give is 'I can't talk about it.'

people are getting distracted.
not only is it questionable to tell someone and break confidentiality, but i suspect its illegal.
