Hi cdiorhomme,

I am a Canadian applying to LSE, but I finished high school last year and am a first-year uni student.

I am not sure what you are applying for, but would it be a good idea to take AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics as well? Since many LSE programmes, and not just those involving economics, require introductory economics? Just like you, I took AP Calc (AB though), these two econ courses, and some other APs.

But 90+s should suffice.

I'm going to apply for management.
Our school does not provide AP econs. Are you going to submit your AP scores to LSE ??
One thing that I'm worried about is that since LSE does not require us to submit ap scores ,but Im taking AP courses, that means LSE will expect more from me because I will be compared among the americans who has tons of AP marks.

anyway, which school are you attending and are you applying as high school marks? or uni gpa?

if you are applying with highschool mark what was your mark in grade 12???

lastly, do you know any people around you got an offer from LSE ? what were their marks ?? I'm just wondering because I dont know how high the mark has to be.

Hi cdiorhomme,

I've submitted my AP scores to LSE. If yours (or your predicted ones) are good, I would submit them too because Canadian high school grades are relatively uncommunicative. I mean, a 95 at one school certainly differs from a 95 at another, right? At least AP grades (or predicted ones) signal to some extent what you're capable of.

So far, I've applied with my high school marks.

There was a person a few years ago who went to LSE but I'm not sure what his grades were. I'll see if I can find out.

Scherz0 ,
thanks for your reply !

So, you submitted your AP scores as well as Canadian Highschool Diploma??
Can you do that though?? Im taking 3 AP's right now and Im just going to predict my class mark not the "AP exam". Even if I predicted 5 on my AP exam scores, Im afraid that I might end up having 3 or 4.
what subjects and what score did you submitt??

also, as individual applicant, do we copy and paste the reference letter ? or does the referee has to login with my account?
lastly, do I type in predicted grades or only the referees allowed??

Hey, I applied for law. I do the IB though. Yea, I know some Canadian students who have gotten into LSE, it's possible!

Yes. Well I know that two people from my school applied for law two years ago. I know one was predicted 39 points, HL 766, (so im guessing that she had an average between 91-93% on her OSSD-Ontario Secondary School Diploma) but then she didn't meet her offer so she didn't get in. The other person had a much higher average, probably predicted 42 or over so her entrace average was probably 94-95%. She is currently there now.

One other student got into LSE last year but is currently taking a gap year. She is going into history and international relations or something I think, I'm not sure.

wow IB 42 .... does she actually got 42 though ??

how many courses are you submitting?

the general requirement for canadians are 5 subjects in grade 12 level not less than 90s right ??

I got to get busy writing personal statement.

I applied for law to 5 schools. Look at my spoiler below.
Yea, I'm pretty sure she got 42 or over in her exams because my chem teacher told me she got a 7 in her chem exam, and she must have gotten a 7 in A2 English to meet her offer, and she is one of the top students in her math class. Hence, I have deduced that she got all 7s in her HL exams. And I'm pretty sure her SL subjects wouldn't be that bad...

Since I do the IB, LSE will not really pay attention to my canadian marks although I did submit them as well. Yea, you shoudl get at least 90 in all your subjects 'cause it is competitive.

I hope to hear from LSE on Nov 14 or Nov 21. I can tell you if I get an offer or not. I was predicted a 42 at the time of submission. but my school just sent interim grades yesterday without telling me and my interim grades are a mere 39 right now because I haven't really been working hard, thinking that the school wouldn't submit them until late november!
anyways, my average for the 6 IB subjects last year was 93.8%. My philosophy (TOK) grade is 93% (but it is not shown on my transcrtip) and my EE is a B. I also have some grade 12 summer credits in which I achieved a 93% and 99% in.

Sorry for the long-run sentences and incorrect grammar haha.

Oh actually my school didn't send the interim grade of IB 39 to UK schools...they sent them to me by mistake. The UK schools, including LSE, only received my prediction of 42, my predicted 95% on the OSSD, and my Ontario grades since grade 10...

Jenna,

You sent all grades from grade 10 to 12?? Is that what you meant?
Being said that , I took one grade 12 course in grade 10 which I got 96 in psychology. Can I submitt that even if it was 2 yes ago ?
