We did dandyism at university in connection with The Importance of Being Earnest. Oscar Wilde was definitely the quintessential dandy, but I can't be one unfortunately as I'm neither male nor the slightest bit camp

I think it's a misconception that dandyism is camp or feminine. It is surely just an exaggeration of the innerself?

There are many modern examples to look at: Pete Doherty, Jonathan Ross, Andre 3000, Robbie Williams, The Killers.

Would everyone not agree that these celebrities are bringing dandyism back into modern culture?

I want to marry a dandy. But only if he wears a top hat and a cravat in bed.

    wtf?

Hmm we're minus the tophats and cravats, but the offer of marriage does seem interesting.

So there's a movie coming out that is actually about dandyism...hurrah!!! Although it has that guy from Billy Elliot in, so I dont know how good itll be. Anyone seen it? Its called "Dear Wendy".

How can you be a dandy - or, indeed, a man - without a top hat and cravat? Hell, even I have a top hat and cravat, and I'm a girl I bet you don't even carry lilies around with you.
