    i don't get why it is SO2 instead of H2
    i thought Metal + Acid -> salt +hydrogen?
    so Cu + H2SO4--> CuSO4 + H2?
    Something about the mass they gave you..
    I dunno!

    Copper is a special metal. It does not react with acids as other metal do. In the question you were given volume and mass of the gas optained which allowed you to calculate the molar mass of the gas which is 64 g. You will agree with me that this is not a molar mass of H2. Did you read the question? When they give you data it is there to be used. There are no trick questions in A levels.

    I was all fine until I hit that last question about oxidation state blah blah.... spent 30 mins on that (finished everything in the first 30 mins or so...), still couldn't do it in the end, so ended up writing out all the oxidation states, hoping for some method marks .

    I hate OCR they are sooooooo mean, and i sooooooo suck at chemistry even though i try so damn hard

    But you are probably really smart and it will be no problem because you're great at chemistry. I'm such a dumb ass that getting a C will need a miracle.
    Best of luck to you, you must be a genious to get an A Hope everything goes well x

    Does anyone know how to do the oxidation state balancing questions and
    what was the answer to the Kp question talking about ratios?

    The value stayed the same. Kp only changes when the temperature changes.

    oxidation state balancing questions
    Lots of half equations formed in one (like is done often in trends and patterns.)
