They are completely different courses so I doubt you would be able to change. It would also depend on spaces on the other course. For instance, I changed to a different economics course half way through my first year but that was only because there were spaces on the course I wanted to change to and the modules in the first year were exactly the same apart from one.

So, don't think it'd be possible tbh.

dammit
this means i have to choose. but i guess this is easier because i don't have to try and make my personal statement appeal to both..
Well, if you do decide to take history at Portsmouth you wont be disappointed! I love the course here, I am in my second year now and it just gets more and more interesting! The good thing about Portsmouth is that it is brimming with history anyway lol. The staff in the SSHLS (School of Social, Historical and Literary Studies) are brilliant - I recommend you take any unit that has Dr James Thomas as the lecturer because he is awesomely funny.

But if you do want to change courses then don't be put off because you'll only know if you try - I don't think it would be easy but never say never!
i changed from civil engineering to video and broadcasting.... easily but it was one of the very few courses with spaces. the biggest problem is spaces/what a levels you had! you cant study something if you haven't shown an interest in it before. I know the uni was crammed with freshers this year so there was literally no spaces. big gamble. but email the course leaders and talk to them, they are there to help!

haha tidy, im just in down the road in hadleigh
I changed course this year from Law & European studies to straight law and the easiest thing to do is to give the course a good go first and if you still want to change you contact your allocated personal tutor who will then contact the admission person for that subject who will then take into account your A-level grades and whether you meet the criteria for that course.

I would say though make sure you do it asap - I had 4 weeks worth of Current legal issues to catch up with and it wasnt pretty!

:yep: :yep:
