    I didn't have enough space to draw the initiation, propagation steps! I had to squash it all in. What did people put for the oxidising agent in the iodform reaction? And also what did you say was the test to show that Iodoform contained Iodine? I said heat with NaOH (and then silver nitrate) but I wasn't sure if that would work with a carbon with 3 big fat I's...

    for q 1 part 1 i just drew a repeating unit of the alkene (with those long arm things)
    for q1 part 2 i did the drawin (in the above post)
    for part 3 i did the normal reaction with the H attaching to the carbon whihc alredy had 2 Hydrogens..
    part 4 ..i said the secondary carbocation is more stable than the primary 1 so thats why the br attaches to it...and i also sed it was energetically favourable

    Humm.. I wrote Iodine because I thought Halogens = oxidising agents. But then I had a moment of genius mental clarity and changed it to OH- And then on the train home I was thinking about it, and I couldn't figure out WHY I DID THAT AHHH!!

    question 2 part 1 i put 3d6 4s2 then just 3d6

    drew the hexa aqua ion octahedral shape

    then [Fe(H2O)6] + 2OH- --> [Fe(OH)2(H2O)4] + 2H2O

    then i said the green ppt darkens in air (i think u were meant to say it went brown )

    then the haber process equation (flopped that)

    define standrd eleltrode potential interms of the Fe cell : "Potential when joined to standard hydrogen electrode)...Fe metal dipped into 1moldm-3 Fe2+ at 298K and all gases at 1atm

    Then u do the equation for the hydrogen and Fe cell...this gave a +ve E(cell) value..so reaction feasible

    Then i said the reaction mite not happen because activation energy too much

    that was just to show that if you wrote out the full equation, the feasible would not produce Fe3+ and I- ions, rather, it produced Fe2+ and I2

    yeah, I think you were supposed to put that it darkens in air too! ...but I just put it forms a dirty green ppt :confused: ...
