Has anyone gotten an offer from LSE yet? Or do they not do rolling admission?

surprisingly it was. i had an offer for MORSE and I had already planned to go Warwick, even looked at the massive course guide for it and decided on options.

Hey I'm applying to Warwick to do MORSE as well! Did you get an interview? If so how did it go?

Oh and I'm applying LSE for Actuarial Science. I'm starting to think I chose the wrong course, since I'm finding S1 quite boring lol. Oh well, lets hope for Cambridge/UCL then :P

my interview was great. it was very relaxed nothing like my oxford one. me and the interviewer were both german so we ended up chatting in german and it lasted 2 almost 3 times as long as others' interviews.

and if you find S1 boring then yes actuarial science may be wrong. however, it gets more interesting once you get past the basics. for MORSE, you can choose your modules so that you do as little stats as possible, so no worries there.

and why, what courses you applied for at UCL/cambridge?

So, did they ask you stuff about the economy, stats etc? You see, I take Maths, Further Maths, Computing and Physics, I have no knowledge in economics except for my C in economics GCSE lol.

I hope I get a Chinese Interviewer who speaks cantonese then :P

Anyways, I applied for Maths and Physics at Cambridge and Maths at UCL.

no. my PS didn mention economics at all. and we just spoke that i had an interest in maths and its applications. and thats what MORSE is all about. i dont remember exactly what he asked me, but it was not technical at all. there was only one question where he showed me a model in OR (about risk of stocks or something) and asked me where the optimum would be. but more like to involve me (so i wudn just listen to him all the time) rather than test me.

I submitted my application on the 12th of October 2009. No I'm not an international student (just from Wales :P). Thanks, I'm sure you'll hear from them soon!

where did you hear that ludicrous notion that every friday they send out offers/rejections.

TSR is full of unsubstantiated rumours created by people who think they know it all.

Indeed.:p: Well I can testify to the fact that they do not just send out offers/rejections on a Friday- I received mine on a Monday.

Hmm I dont agree:

"Mid-November
First decisions are transmitted to UCAS. Further decisions are sent to UCAS on a weekly basis. You should check UCAS Track regularly for the latest update on your application.

Mid-November to mid-February
Some departments adopt a gathered field approach when considering some applications. If your application is part of this gathered field you will be notified by email."
This means that if you have been rejected you find out, but it is rolling admissions, people have got offers at my school (3 ppl all in different weeks).

I got an offer for Law (40 IB Points :-( :-( SO HIGH!!!)

Congrats, but OMG  ! That's making me extremely nervous! I hope they don't want something like that from me... Did they have any HL specifications in your offer?

Nope nothing at all just 40 points. No specifics. So annoyed, I can get 40 (i think :-S :-S).

I wouldnt worry the Law school said offers are between 38-42 so If you have a good profile then you should be OK.

Did you know, (I mean obv this doesnt apply to you doing the IB) but the High School Diploma, and APs, Oxford, LSE and UCL say that a GPA of 4.0 = 28 IB points. :-)
