Im not very confident on arguements regarding Italy-German relations, and i was wondering if someone could help me out with questions like the following?
-To what extent were Italian-German relations driven my a mutal desire to destroy communism?
-What key factors explain Germany's changing relations with Italy in the years 1933-1939?
-To what extent was the Italy-Germany alliance a matter of convience for Hitler, rather than a clear foreign policy aim?

    Thankyou very much in advance!

Quite a bit. But this question is asking you to discuss this variable, and debate others; hatred of Versailles, longing for expansion, similar ideology, similar leadership, similar rise to power, similar maintenance of power, the Spainish Civil War, Anti-Comintern, Stresa etc.

-What key factors explain Germany's changing relations with Italy in the years 1933-1939?
    See above.

-To what extent was the Italy-Germany alliance a matter of convience for Hitler, rather than a clear foreign policy aim?

Christ alive! Where'd you get this question from? Um, I'd discuss the detriment to Hitler's foreign policy in the absence of the relationship - ie, thwarted Anschluss in 1934 as a result of Mussolini deploying 40,000 troops to the Austrian border. Then Hitler needing alliances in order to move Eastward - (he wasn't going to get them from England and France!) So in a way it was convenient not to have *another* European enemy.

At the same time it can be considered a clear aim in regard to the Spanish Civil War, Anti-Comintern and the Pact of Steel.

I think Italy and Germany may rear its ugly head.. So hope this helps.

    Dreama xxxx
