    The synoptic mark is also coursework though? Or were the figures you gave for the paper only?

    Isn't it called a Hydrolysis reaction? I've been led to believe that it was a Hydrolysis reaction, although deprotonation does seem like an appropriate name for it, as well.

    Its definately deprotonation - the OH- ions remove a hydrogen from two of the water ligands (i.e. a proton). In NH3, OH- ions are present because NH3 deprotonates H20 to form NH4+ and OH-. In excess NH3, the NH3 molecules replace the H20 ligands - ligand exchange.
