Can anyone explain to me how the marks in exams are converted into UMS marks for AQA Eng Lang&Lit Spec A? See, the whole thing is out of 500!!! And Ums marks are out of 300? Also, is it likely that grade boundaries will be low? Thanks xxx

They take everyone's raw marks, and normalise them, then they decide where the boundaries should be from that. I'm told by teachers who are on the exam board for maths that they choose A and C and put B in between. If everyone has done badly, the grade boundaries will be lower.

Yeah, so you can't really work it out yourself as such Although I don't think they actually change *that* much in grade boundaries, I'm probably wrong though lol.
