Watching glastonbury on bbc3 - Lazy i know - i was really disappointed with some of the acts so what i want to know from all of you is who you would pick for your ultimate festival lineup. the acts can be living or dead together /split as this is purely hypothetical. Here's mine:
as you can tell, im kinda into classic rock.

    Led Zeppelin
    The Datsuns
    Queen
    The Darkness
    Ac/dc
    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Aerosmith
    Deep purple
    The Who
    Pink Floyd
    the eagles
    velvet revolver

that's damn good news. i heard the rumour somewhere but thought it wasn't true. although, you reckon they'll get James and d'arcy back in it? but i would definitely add them to my festival line up.

its doubtful they will (james and d'arcy), but Billy Corgan did say that the pumpkins will be something totally different and like nothing you would have expected. I think james iha is more probable to join, i havent heard anything about d'arcy since 1999. Jimmy will definitely join. Have u got Corgan's new solo album yet? I yet to see him in concert two weeks ago in Dublin, it was brilliant. During one of the songs he played the today riff and everyone went mad!!!

    I'd have (in no order):

    The Beatles circa 1965
The Rolling Stones circa any time before 1975
The Beach Boys (original line-up, no dead members)
    The Kinks
    Bright Eyes
    Willy Mason
    Ryan Adams
    Brendan Benson
    Ramones
    The Specials
    Ben Kweller
    Ben Lee
    Hanson
    Lemonheads
    Nirvana
    BB King
    Ray Charles
    Billy Bragg
    Blur
    Bob Dylan
    Eisley
    M Ward
    Paddingtons
    Supergrass
    The Libertines
    The Stands

and I think I'm getting a little carried away now, so I shall stop

Yeah it is babyshambles, but nevertheless I feel a compulsion to mention that my lineup would definitely close with a 4-hour set by Iron Maiden

Woohoo! I'll go with that. Definitely the current line up though, please no Blaze. He should've stuck to Wolfsbane. Anyway, any thread that spreads the word about Maiden is alright by me.

strange, i was goin to suggest anyone but maiden. could see them at reading this year on the sunday but will choose bloc party over them (bloc party for god's sake - rookies)
anyway, i dont think this is a fav. band thread. live, i would put Muse top of any list but i'd rather not sit and listen to showbiz. at home, i could listen to keane but i know that tom chaplin cant hit the notes at a live show.
PS. toffee's music is pretty M.O.R. try listenin to 3 inches of blood or trivium!! they are more extreme versions of those bands like 36 crazyfists

okay, i'm bored, but instead of just rolling off a list of my favourite bands, i'll make it slightlymore realistic and only include bands that could possibly play (no Hendrix etc) and having only one headliner type band each day (no, Radiohead can't play just before U2)

    Day 1:

    Radiohead
    The Pixies
    The Libertines
    Interpol
    The Arcade Fire
    The Shins
    The Arctic Monkeys

    Day 2:

    Paul McCartney
    David Bowie
    Stevie Wonder
    Ryan Adams
    Belle & Sebastian
    Love With Arthur Lee
    The Postal Service

    If we're being fairly realistic:

    Day 1:
    R.E.M.
    Eels
    The Divine Comedy
    Grandaddy
    Elbow
    Ben Folds
    Nada Surf

    Day 2:
    Radiohead
    Moby
    Doves
    The Coral
    The Flaming Lips
    Teenage Fanclub
    The Bees

    Day 3:
    Sir David of Bowie
    Nick Cave
    New Order
    Lemon Jelly
    Mercury Rev
    Belle & Sebastian
    Alabama 3

There should have been an act limit to this thread (ie. only 20 acts allowed!!). But yeah; fantastic thread idea! Ok, mine would be over three days:

    Day 1:
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Aerosmith
    The Killers
    Snow Patrol
    Athlete
    Kaiser Chiefs
    Bell X1

    Day 2:
    Coldplay
    Bloc Party
    Turin Brakes
    Interpol
    The White Stripes
Fightstar (sorry but they are good live!)
    Sheryl Crow

    Day 3:
Damien Rice (with Lisa Hannigan, Viv etc)
    James Blunt
    KT Tunstall
    Alanis Morissette
    Placebo
    Muse
    The Subways

(I might have an extra little pop day with Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Eminem etc)
