If you don't mind me asking what course are you doing? And have you got A-Levels? It's very rare for DMU to request a interview unless you're doing pharmacy.

Night Hawk you are wrong. At DMU all applicants for business courses are invited to an open day during which there will be a 20 minute interview with a member of academic staff.

I went to an open day at de montfort recently and they said that they try to fair and give everyone an opportunity. In order to do this they email as many people as possible.. 1-1 and informally.

I plan to study Criminology so perhaps this is just in the law/business faculties.

Yeh the interview was alright dead informal ..

I got an offer 2 days later, they ask you..

Why do you want to study this subject?

Why do you want to study at De Montfort?

Hobbies

asked about me A levels as well ..

Mine was in the law school but I can imagine they are similar processes

I'm really nervous because i haven't studied Business previous to A-level so im unsure just how much knowledge im going to need for the day. also, this sounds reaaaly stupid.. but how should you talk about your hobbies? i always make it sound like a list... is there anything in particular i should be saying about them?

The interview is quite infornal with one member of academic staff. It doesn't matter that much if you haven't done business before. Try to have a reason for wanting to study HRM - and NOT something like you want to work with people. Mention something about the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel + Development) will go down well. If you don't normally - make sure that you read and watch the news couple of days before your interview so you are aware of what is going on in current events. Be prepared to talk about your choice of A Levels, why you have picked DMU, your future career plans and have a couple of questions ready for the end of the interview. Good luck!

Hi there Malee

I hope you are doing well.

Our online interviews are designed with you in mind, and allow you to attend virtually from the comfort of your own home, saving you time and money on travel as well as giving you flexibility to choose a date and time that suits you.

We want this experience to be the best opportunity for you, and we are here to support you with this next step in your application to DMU. That’s why we’ve created helpful guides that outline why we interview for your chosen course, what to expect from the interview process, how to prepare beforehand and what happens afterwards. Our Interviews tend to be between 30-45 minutes long. You will be asked to speak about your interest in the course, why you would like to study at DMU and, for portfolio-based courses, your previous work.

We understand that digital interviews, portfolios or auditions can be a new experience for students, which is why we want to ensure that you have all the information you need to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.

Here's a link to all the useful interview tips videos and FAQ section on interviews: https://www.dmu.ac.uk/study/undergra...ews/index.aspx.
