Distance between College Lane and De Havilland?

Hello

I want to know how much is the distance between the two stated campuses of Herts Uni in miles?.. or how much time does it take to walk from one campus to another?

and which one is more beautiful? I might be coming to College Lane for Computer Sciences.

Google Maps says 0.8 miles or 16 minutes by walking, so not that far apart really.I'd say college lane is the better looking of the two but i havn't spent much time on DeHav

Can i have pics of College Lane Campus? Its sad I have not seen the campus :frown:

i'd say it takes a little longer than 16 mins.. probably around 20 as you have to cross a dual carriage way.. tends to take up a bit of time at the traffic lights
There's also a shuttle bus for the terminally lazy.

yep but sometimes you can be waiting for the bus, longer than it would take to walk it :P

De Havilland is the new campus and is better built. College lane is where all the technical courses are.

Walking distance between campuses is about 15 minutes.

In my first year I lived on de Havilland and studied on College Lane.

15 minutes? then you are quite a fast walker lol. I'd say it will take most people about 20 minutes

It took me 15 minutes when I was walking to my exam  I wasn't even walking that fast.(OnlyWalkedBecauseICouldn'tWorkOutWhereTheBusWasGoingFrom). But usually I'm a very slow walker so it takes me about 30 minutes.
It takes five minutes on the bus though.
I wouldn't say either are beautiful. If your doing a course on college lane, then I'd say go for accommodation there. it depends if you mind having to share bathrooms though..

I really can't stand the thought of sharing a bathroom... So, De Havilland it looks like for me! xD

That's how I felt, but considering all things (and in particular how much better the campus is for me) I'm hoping to live at College Lane.

Kitty- Where from/ to de Hav/College Lane ? Is it just the shuttle, in which case the stop is on the same side of the road as the campus ( stop R if I remember right) or from elsewhere?

Incidentally the shuttle and the other services are calling in at The Forum side of the road when stopping at the College Lane campus ( this weekend, 15-16th Sept. only) instead of the normal stops 4-5-6. There are notices on the Forum stops regarding this.
The route number of the shuttle is 690 btw.

Thank you. So the shuttle bus takes you from stop R havillard Campus to college Lane Campus am I right as I need to go to college campus? And also it's it free. Please let me know thank you for your help

 That`s right. You can see the timetables if you go to the UNO bus site www.unobus.info / routes/ inter campus shuttle. The shuttle- normally bendy articulated buses which UNO purchased from Transport for London some years ago when they stopped using them, and also when the Eden Project in Cornwall finished, goes round and round all day and into a good part of the early hours.
It`s free between the two campuses.

Was it difficult to live on de havilland and study on college lane? Dod you wish you stood in college lane? And also, were you able to change rooms after that term?

:frown: As the crow flies in a straight line it`s not that far- but bear in mind if you do cut through the Ellenbrook estate then after you will have the large and busy A1/A414 roads and roundabout to contend with- and it`s not meant for pedestrian use !
Going via the Galleria and College Lane is the safest, albeit longer way, I`d say walking it around 15-20mins ?
Incicidentally the shuttles are running again ( 12th Sept 2022), but not as yet a full UH term time service. www.unobus.info/timetables/The Shuttle
