Don't do exercise, or anything that'll make you more active, it'll just wake you up more. It's a case of stopping thinking, thinking of nothing, I always have a glass of milk if I can't sleep, usually works.

Eat something big before you go to bed, works for me....i think.

Horlicks

Or a glass of whisky before you hit the hay is also good.

I would have a hot bath before you go to bed, use some lavender oils, and have a hot milky drink, such as Horlicks. There is a chemical/enzyme or something in milk which is released when its warmed up, which induces sleep. If all that fails, do and see a doctor, they might suggest more ideas  Good luck and hope you have a good nights sleep!

have you been getting up latter because your exams have finished? I had this problem and found that getting up early, about 8:30, helps. Try to do something active during the day too. Hope this helps!
my sleeping is so screwed too. i cant get to sleep till about 3-4 coz iv been staying up late revising, then i'm knackered by the afti, so i have a kip and can't get back to sleep again till 3! grrr viscious cycle

the exams arnt over for me yet, so i still cant do much abt it all :'(

its annoying, isnt it? Ive had months on end where ive had just a few hours sleep each night, and not for lack of trying. It could be something psychological but for you its probably just the anti-climax at the end of all the exams. Did u go out to celebrate or stay in?
im sure its probably just stress thats manifesting itself. that happened to be, and i still suffer from it not when somethings playing on my mind. im sure though, that youll be able to calm down and relax now your examsa re over, so dont worry. if i was you, if it continues id go to the doctor/go and talk to someone about it. i know a lot of people dont like sleeping tablets, i know i wouldnt, but maybe they could help? as it is unnatural to be awake for such long periods of time.
however, on the other hand, if you are still functioning normally, and dont feel physically/emotionall tired then maybe your body is telling you that you've been over sleeping? i dunno though, because it sounds like you havent been sleeping all that much. but i only need 7 hours of sleep to be fully awake the next day....if i have more im really sleepy. weird.
oh, and doing excercise before you try to sleep is not wise, as it increases the blood flow (and therefore oxygen supply) around your body, which makes you more awake before making you more tired! (unless you excercise quite a while before trying to go to sleep!) maybe just curling up with a good book is the thing to do?

I have had that a bit, like lying awake for upto 2 hours, but its gone now after exams. was probably linked to me having upto a litre of red bull a day and having naps in the afternoon!

if its bad, go for a jog,
Have a bath and a warm drink like cocoa then read... always works for me. If not, try sleeping tablets or something.

Jack Daniels is good at any time, you don't need an excuse like insomnia for JD
