6th form ball/prom events

What is the order of your events for the 6th form ball/prom?

Mine is:

6:30 - photographs
7:30 - dinner
9:30 - awards and speeches
10:00 - disco
12:30 - disco ends

wow we're not doniing the formal thing, no-one could be bothered

instead buffet CHEAP BAR n a great venue!

What is the order of your events for the 6th form ball/prom?

Mine is:

6:30 - photographs
7:30 - dinner
9:30 - awards and speeches
10:00 - disco
12:30 - disco ends

Don't think it has an order quite like that...

7ish PM people turn up start drinking

then there will be some kind of hot buffet

then sometime around 1ish things will end and we will all either go back to our rooms and carry on drinking or stand and wait for taxis for 2 hours...

I think ours is

6 - boat to the fort
6:30 ish - photos
7 ish - dinner and awards
8 - year 12 join us on the fort
8 - 1 - we all get drunk
1 - return boat trip then home.

Mines on Sunday, don't think everything is at a strict time but people turn up at 7.30, everyone gets a drink and then have a sit down 3 course meal at about 8pm, followed by speeches etc and then disco till 12am! Some people are going in a limo afterwards, one of whom is me :-)

Similar to my prom. :p:

We have a strict time though, but it doesn't matter. I don't think not much people will go on a limo though, as we are all taking a coach there. That way, it will be cheaper. In addition, the coach is included in our fees for the prom anyway.

6 - boat to the fort

Boat?!
Fort?!

I had my ball last night and it was fantastic even if i do say so myself (I organised it!). The order was something like...
7.45 pm - Bus (yes, bus, not boat!) took us to hotel
8-9 pm - bucks fizz and photographs
9 pm - buffet
9 pm - drinking, dancing etc
10.30 - speeches- i had to walk across the room to collect a bottle of champagne as a thankyou for orgainising the ball and I was just a bit tipsy!
12 - bus took us home

I had such a great night with all my mates and it was sad as it was goodbye 6th form! Hopefully they'll invite us back next year to the ball.

I had my prom last night, now I'm feeling a bit rough and I've got to go to school for a leavers service in a bit...I did enjoy it though :biggrin:

7.30pm-7.45pm arrive outside racecourse
7.45pm-8.00pm bucks fizz and wait to go into dinner
8.00pm-9.00pm 3 course meal
9.00pm-9.30pm Awards and teachers comments (someone got a reward for worst driving test, 10 majors and 11 minors :biggrin:

)
9.30pm-1.00am Disco and drinking (bar closed at 12.15am but disco was on until 1.00am.
1.00am-1.30am Go home

Yeh, theres a fort out in the solent which does events. Its lovely. Last year the whole thing was on a boat but people wanted it out on the fort this year.

Similar kind of timetable except wer weren't allowed to drink at our prom. Even though some of us had turned 18, no pupils were served at the bar. Kind of put a bit of a downer on the evening.

Ours is at a hall in the town (next to swimming pool- sulubrious(sp)!) It is formal dress and for the ticket price of £7 we also get sausage n chips from the local chippy. Going to be great?? :confused:
