I was one of the lucky ones who won tickets to Live 8, and I got sooo excited. So yesterday when I noticed a card from Royal Mail on my doormat saying that I had missed a letter which was recorded delivery I was deleriously happy, until I went to the delivery office to get them only to be told that they couldnt find them!!! I was so angry, they said they would turn up, so I have been phoning all day today and there is still no sign. So now I have accepted the fact that they have probably been stolen, because these tickets are like gold-dust. So as Live 8 draws nearer I am getting more and more anxious. This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity and the royal mail stole it from me. I have even started writing my letter of official complaint and I will be seeking MAJOR compensation. Anyway, I just had to tell you guys.
I picked up the post from my dining room table a while ago (it's where we keep it ), and looked at one of the letters - it had been slit open with a knife across the top. It seemed kind of odd, so I asked my mum and she went ballistic because she hadn't even looked at it yet. The postman had slit the letter open. And other things we get are sometimes ripped at the corners or torn at the bottom so the postal workers can see what's inside. Drives me mental.
Awww that's bad I hope you get more tickets! Royal Mail really can be bad at times! We've had stuff go missing before (in other words stolen..but they say they "couldn't find them").. hasn't happened that often but I don't always feel very happy if I'm posting things to people etc!
Hope you get to go to Live8 though! Some people are so horrible
Ive had no luck on the live 8 website. There is no way to contact them.
Its not about the cost of the ticket, this is a once in a lifetime chance, and the royal mail was trusted, and they failed me. Having employees willing to steal a ticket is enough grounds for compensation.
And yes, the compo will ALL go to charity, this is not about the money.

Not royal at all so it seems. There was a documentary a while back about how some employees threw some parcels onto the floor and if they couldnt fid where to put it, hide under a shelf. Some even opened the parcels and took things inside etc.

Uhuh, this guy who was filming was an undercover post sorter working there. And this guy spoke to some employees there and they were talking about how they have nicked money, perishables, even passports and stuff out of people mail.
