No, I have never had a moment like that - there has been plenty of Mathematics that I have had trouble with, but I daresay that it was a darn sight harder than that!

Well, if they didn't then it's get darlk closer to 2pm or 3pm in the depths of winter as opposed to about 4pm, hence that's why they do it. Also, if they didn't, then it'd be light outside at post-10ppm in the summer which would seem a little weird.

Nope, loads of countries in temperate climtates use it as well. It's been used by various nations since sometime early-ish in the 20th century, however I don't remember the exact dates when various people adopted it.

Edit: Just Googled it, and Britain introduced daylight saving in 1916. :smile:
