I saw muse at the O2 a few weeks back and was very disappointed. Far better on recording in my opinion.

Yeah, I can't believe they slagged us off because they were crap. To be honest, their set was poorly suited to a festival stage; no matter how good you are, you can't just play a shortened version of your tour set because at a festival people want the classics as much as they want the new stuff. To make things worse, the whole thing was just so slow and dull that the only time the crowd went wild was when Four Kicks and Sex on Fire came on.

To be brutally honest, the crowd was full of kids who have recently decided to become 'indie' and posh girls (admittedly the whole festival was full of them). It's these people who made them incredibly mainstream, and therefore hated by a lot of people. It was pretty weird of them to have a go though...

P.S I'm not a fan, it's just an observation.

This. KOL are probably my most disappointing live band, which is a shame because I used to love them before Reading.

RATM were really good at Reading '08 when I saw them. Like, really, really good. Pretty much the standard I hold all festival performances to now.

I saw Paramore, Madina Lake, Billy Talent, YouMeAtSix, Go:Audio and 30 Seconds To Mars in 07 they were great.

Feeder was awesome as ever in 08.

Worst band ive seen live has to be Fightstar or Coheed and Cambria. Too much bass not enough vocals.

I also saw RHCP at Reading a few years ago and they were *****, however at Earls Court they were amazing. Not sure what went wrong at Reading, but it didn't do their live performing justice at all.

Yup I was at the front and it was terrible. They looked disinterested, there were sound problems, and they didn't play many of their hit songs

Remember how the main stage was a like a dust bowl... :moon:

snow patrol aint that good live.

muse and enter shikari are, on the other hand, awesome.

Best band live has to Rolling Stones

ladytron, midlake and dirty pretty things who I have embarrassingly enough seen twice. pendulum were just alright, too.

I was pretty disappointed about midlake because I'm such a big fan otherwise. it was a weird crowd though and the venue was far too big for them.

The Enemy.
I dont know if somebody's already mentioned them, didnt bother to scroll down,
& i do like their albums, but live, feels like they steal energy from your soul, like the crowd is just staring at them lifelessly lol

KOL at reading this year were dire. mostly because they started slagging us off and then threw a hissy fit.

Yes, and I was really disappointed; I've seen them live twice before, and both times have been absolutely ******* awesome (once was at a festival the year before, too), so it was just really sad.

Although, tbf., the audience wasn't that good either, compared to previous times I've seen them, or how they were with other bands (even before they started throwing a hissy fit).

Glasvegas were painful to listen to.
Thank **** they were supporting Muse :h:

Marilyn Manson at download 09 was an embarassment.

This! Also, I thought Steel Panther were pretty shocking.

Kings of Leon were excellent in 2007, I basically got crushed in King of the Rodeo and in general there seemed to be a massive core that knew every word. But I guess that was before Only By The Night and following up something as dark and brilliant as Because of the Times with middle-of-the-road radio rock

I quite enjoyed hearing about their moan at Reading this year tbh. Oh no you guys, you didn't get a great crowd? That's what you get when you have a load of new fans just standing around waiting for Sex on Fire to come on; that's what selling out entails.

As you can see I'm quite bitter at how bad the new album is :shifty:

Counting Crows shouldn't be listened to live. They have some really good songs, though.

That may be true, but they still did a pretty poor job of pleasing the tag-along indie kids nonetheless; they mostly just played the boring slow songs from their most recent album. The set had no energy to it and nowhere near enough variety; it wouldn't have pleased a deaf baboon!

Funeral for a Friend. They really just don't give a ****. They sound alright, but then finish half an hour before curfew, with no encore, and play way too much of their post-Hours stuff.

I disagree, saw them a few weeks ago and they were as good as ever. Really tight performance, the sound was excellent (honestly sounded like a cd) and they only played about 5 songs post hours. (one of TDTT, none off M&H and about 3 new ones). Brilliant gig.

InMe released a live album and it was absolutely appaling. really terrible. But I had some of their previous live stuff that blew me away and was, imo, better than the studio version.

My Chemical Romance...can't believe that wasn't on the first page! God that guy cannot sing to save his life. And their album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" is a warning, to any of you who haven't heard him live...

Rammstein on the other hand...well I haven't seen them live, but I've heard recordings of their Berlin show and WOW they are amaaazing!

I saw them on the NME tour when they were being supported by Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and White Lies. All three support bands were awesome, but Glasvegas made me suicidal. As I said at the time, they're like a Scottish version of U2; bland, dull and depressing. Except in Glasvegas' case they're also horribly depressing.
