Lacuna Coil and Megadeth immediately come to mind.

Gotta disagree with you about megadeth I'm afraid. I saw them live this year with testament and judas priest and they were amazing. Agreed, Dave Mustaine is not a good singer nor is he as amazing at lead guitarist as many of his fans think, but overall Megadeth are a really great band (live and in the studio). Bit of an acquired taste perhaps.

The Enemy.
I dont know if somebody's already mentioned them, didnt bother to scroll down,
& i do like their albums, but live, feels like they steal energy from your soul, like the crowd is just staring at them lifelessly lol

Couldn't disagree more! Seen them twice on their own (both mental) at V (mental) and couple of times supporting Oasis (not so mental)

Got to agree with whoever said My Chemical Romance I still have no frigging idea why they supported Muse. Also RHCP at Earls Court were very meh, musically outstanding vocals not great at all.

I saw them on the NME tour when they were being supported by Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires and White Lies. All three support bands were awesome, but Glasvegas made me suicidal. As I said at the time, they're like a Scottish version of U2; bland, dull and depressing. Except in Glasvegas' case they're also horribly depressing.

Rofl, yes. The drummer was out of time for the whole set when I saw them, it made Jess a very unhappy bunny indeed :p:

The Rakes :sigh:

Also my brother took me to see Oasis back in 2005, I guess they didn't "suck" but they were so boring, and the majority of their fans were absolute morons.

I thought Boys Like Girls were bad before I saw them live, then I found out they are completley horrendous.
I cant really think of any others that are really bad.

Oh Alexisonfire were really dissapointing actually=[.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever been to see a band, or seen a recorded live performance and been disappointed?

For me it would be 'Evanescence', their recordings are really well mixed but the vocals are horrendous live!

Muse, however, are excellent.

Agreed, I loved Evanescence - waited ages to see them live and then, boom - I was not expecting to hear that! she was murdering her own songs!

Anyway, why would anyone think that Glasvegas were a good supporting band for Muse? It's like the Spice Girls supporting Tenacious D.

Because Muse supported MCR in America, and so the compliment was repaid at Wemberly.
Matt doesn't think much of them though, as in an interview someone asked him what Muse would do for MCR fans and he said "take them to another level?" and burst out laughing!
Go Matt

Hoobastank..hahaha they suck so much it's actually quite ridiculous.

Panic At the Disco-Brendan sings quite awful live, and it's true whichever way you look at it.

Most punk rock bands suck live (in terms of singing) but the drumming often makes up for the bad singing.

Same with Fergie's singing. It's mainly because they fail to warm up adequately and jump around all over the place which results in early exhaustion, gasping during singing, shorter notes, pitchy voice etc. And then there's the argument that said people can't actually really sing.. so yeah.

Joss Stone's actually pretty good..have you seen the Basel concert in 07? it's on youtube. She rocked that one. I suppose everyone has their off days though.

Shame, I loved The Rakes.
I saw White Lies on Saturday night and they were amazing. If anything, they sound better live than on record.

rhcp and soad were awful live. Think I saw the latter when I was ~16 and just thinking they were terrible.

I haven't actually been to a Metallica gig, but I've seen loads of videos and DVDs. They are absolutely gash live.

The Fratellis were absolutely awful when I had the misfortune of having to work one of their gigs. The lead vocalist can't sing for ****.

The Big Pink were dreadful also. It was so mind-numbingly boring, standing there while they droned on.

My friend went to see the Fratellis once. She wasn't impressed either.

Feeder are my favorite band and it pains me to say they aren't brilliant live, but I love their music. Muse are undoubtedly one of the best live, but when Basement Jaxx came on at Creamfields they were bloody amazing and it was a really good surprise!
