When I saw blink-182 on the last tour they did before they went on a hiatus they were pretty terrible, but it was still a lot of fun.

Panic at the Disco were laaaaame, didn't even notice the audience or the carnage that was going on.

Billy Talent were awesome though (same gig), it was the first time I'd even heard of them and it made me love them forever, even though I was 13/14 and emo at the time.

I also quite enjoyed seeing half of Spandau Ballet

I thought I was going to be the only one to say this but the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were such a let down live. I'm glad some other people agree! They were just so dull and disappointing, nothing like what I expected.
However, the Foo Fighters were so much better than I expected! They were frickin awesome live.
Also, no surprises here, but Rihanna is dreadful live. She sounds like a strangled cat.

Shame, I loved The Rakes.
I saw White Lies on Saturday night and they were amazing. If anything, they sound better live than on record.

I saw them at Glasgow too and they just blew me away. I agree that they are better live than on record.

I had the 'pleasure' of seeing scouting for girls last year and they were absolutly awful. I wasn't expecting much but they still managed to disappoint me. And I think they were nominated for a Brit award for best live act:lolwut:

Scouting for Girls make me puke a bit :frown:

To be brutally honest, the crowd was full of kids who have recently decided to become 'indie' and posh girls (admittedly the whole festival was full of them). It's these people who made them incredibly mainstream, and therefore hated by a lot of people. It was pretty weird of them to have a go though...

P.S I'm not a fan, it's just an observation.

ahaha your sigs brilliant

I thought they were excellent live. However I also thought Drangonforce were too, and they seem to get a lot of stick. I think being at the front for them makes a difference.

Though I love them, I have to say Bullet For My Valentine seem to have a lot of technical sound issues, making them not as good as they could be live.

Dragonforce aren't that bad. They played in our student's union last year. Missed the first half but the second half was pretty good.

Wow I'm jealous. One of my favourite bands. Of course it would be hard for them to sing as well as they do in the studio, but I did think they were great when I saw them live.

Bands have good and bad days though.

And with Dragonforce I had high pitched ringing in one ear for a few days after, I was next to a speaker. But they were so good to see from the front.

Dragonforce, in case they haven't been mentioned 100 times already, are one of the worst bands ever.

Bloc Party were awful at Reading 08', but they made up for it at Glasto last year!x

Reply 173

Mastodon... great on CD, **** live.

Saw them supporting Metallica in Marlay Park this summer, went to get a drink halfway through because I got bored.

i was guna say the same thing, manson was awful! the prodigy were amazing though

ooh so agree with this, Manson has been crap both times i've seen him (such a pity!) but I loved The Prodigy so much, I was really glad I chose them over Slipknot (who i've seen before) cause the crowd were brilliant! I was in a pit during Breathe for gods sake lol!!

and for those saying Trivium, I think they are great live.. I saw them when they were first starting out over here at a free show organised by Kerrang! radio and they were top notch, and at the other places i've seen them.

Also, I see you are from Greenock too, nice.

A Day to Remember are horrendous live. They're just a really sloppy live band and Jeremy's vocals are horrible.
