blisters

I was out yesterday with my friends actually to celebrate my birthday, went all dressed up wearing these really nice pair of sandals i recently got and they gave me awful blisters on both sides of my feet :frown:
It hurts so much now if i accidently brush my feet against anything and one of them even burst and this watery stuff(errrmm dunno wt else to call it) keeps coming out of it!!...anyone got any solutions?

Put some savlon or TCP (this may sting!) on them to stop them getting infected. Then put a plaster on top to stop dirt getting in and it will also make it less painful if you brush against anything. Hope this helps!

Compeed do excellent blister plasters, you can get them in most chemists and I always take them when I go walking. It's worth paying the extra - they really are fab. Apart from that, don't wear such stupid shoes again :p: (sorry, but it had to be said, and prevention really is better than cure). If you must, put the platers on BEFORE you go out to prevent the blisters from forming,

u may have seen the new range sholl have brought out for us girlies to use on a night out, originally it was just the 'ball of the foot' cushion but now they do these ace gel pads to stick where ur sandal/shoe is rubbing and therefore help prevent blisters! they work a treat!

Last time I got blisters, I wore something like five pairs of socks to cushion them as it hurt like hell to walk anywhere! It's not a cure, but it might stop the pain from when you brush against things

If they're leather sandals - saddle-soap them to soften them up.

Make sure that you don't burst any that haven't burst though!

I read somewhere tht bursting them would be the cure,it said u should warm a needle and then after it cools down use it to prick the blister  but i am too scared to do any of that :frown:

No, coz it can get infected easily. Basically, the blister is protecting the baby skin coz it's not ready to be real skin yet, so by bursting it you're not letting it have the chance to grow up properly

If it's in a place where it's likely to GET burst by knocking against things etc, like the one that already has, then it's a good idea to do it like you describe, cleanly, just stick the needle into one side and let the fluid drain then cover it with a plaster. That way the skin still stays on top. Generally though, they're best left.

I always pop blisters with a hot needle (dip it in boiling water for a bit). Blood blisters though you shouldn't do that with...as long as its just a water blister its okay.

BTW it doesnt hurt if you use the hot needle and prick it, get the water out and then you can either leave it once the water's out or pick the skin off it (thats what I do )

It won't hurt that much if you do it gently and just pop it at the side. Drain out the fluid and cover it.
