Sending two UCAS applications.

After researching about the question; Can i send two UCAS applications? i found that many users replied with a strict 'NO!' answers, but surprisingly i have not seen any policy on UCAS or any official document that says otherwise. So has anyone ever seen some type of rule against this?

Furthermore, I would like to ask if anyone knows the consequences of doing this, did anyone actually try doing it?

And finally, what if i send off two separate applications, one as an independent student and the other through my school, is that legal?

No. When UCAS (inevitably) found out they would kick you out and presumably give you a ban of some sort and inform all the universities involved. It really isn't worth screwing up your future on something like this.

WHAT?! :lolwut:

I think this is the 1st time I've heard about this :s-smilie:

Why would you want to though??
You're applying to the same Universities (in which case I see no point) or different Universities (which is what you mean hopefully)?

Edit: Its a huge risk, which is not worth taking :dontknow:

Just give out two different addresses.

Just give out two different addresses.

And you think they wouldn't notice the exact same name arising, with the exact same qualifications and presumably otherwise identical information?

What about the different personal statements?
and even if you send one as an Independent applicant, what about the references?
You will have to give your referee's details!

Yeah, i meant totally changing the Universities i applied for. Is that possible, and if it was, i assume that others before me would have most likely tried doing it.

And about the PS, yes it would be the same one, but since im applying to different universities then i dont think they would notice. As for the references, i talked to my university adviser and she told me to go ahead with it if i was willing to take the risk and would give me my references and predicted grades.

I'm sure there's more than one of your name? But you have to apply to different universities than your first of choices. I'm just speculating btw.

You didn't research very well, then; the most obvious place to start (the application overview help on the UCAS site) says this:

You can only send us one application in each year's application cycle. If you send a second application, it will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund.

Melodrama and histrionics much?

If you used the same PS, it would be flagged and you'd be discovered.

They would notice because, even if your second application weren't cancelled by some strange mischance, your PS would be flagged up by the plagiarism check as 100% like your other one, which would highlight your misdeeds to everyone.

Finally, real evidence that its illegal, but don't you think that "it will be canceled and you will not receive a refund" is too mild of a consequence, hell if that's the only consequence then i would try my luck, it might work and if it doesn't then I've gambled with the fees.

And what if i change the PS?

Then you must have more money than sense.

It isn't a gamble, Einstein; that would imply that you could win - you can't. If you try it you just have more money than sense.
Don't be ridiculous. It would flag you up almost immediately - if you've got too many choiced for uni's then you're just going to have to narrow them down.

Ukh, choosing only 5 universities really really sucks. Its quite unfair come to think of it. Why cant you apply to more than 5? and is there a way to apply to universities NOT through UCAS?
Syler08
What do you mean i cant win? What is going to be flagged if i change every detail in the application except for my name, birthdate, and predicted grades?

Where are you getting two references from?

There's a reason you can't find too information on this, it's stupid and you must be extremely insecure about your grades to want to hedge your bets on 10 different universities.

:toofunny: Let's try and get it from the horse's mouth shall we?

What do you give as the chances of getting away with two applications for someone in living in Jordan, taking the IB and applying as follows in his first application (which was submitted on or around 13 November):

LSE for Economic History
UCL for Economics and Business With EES
Exeter for Business Economics
Warwick for Economics and Economic History
Bristol for Economics and Business

His predicted grades are:

Arabic B HL: 7
Economics HL: 7
Physics HL: 5
English A1 SL: 5
ITGS SL: 7
Math SL: 7

I reckon the chances of success in this attempted cheat are slim to zero. Do you agree?

To be honest i am quite insecure, i saw my predicted grades today in detail and i really thought i would get higher than a 38.

The lowest university in terms of requirements was UCL for Economics and Business with East European studies and they gave me a rejection a few days back stating that my personal statement is not relevant.

Now im left with LSE (economic history, and my PS is purely about economics so its impossible to get accepted), Warwick (econ & econ histor and Bristol (business econ) which were my reach. And exeter which is my safety that hasn't even replied despite sending the application 4 weeks ago.

My predicted grades:
ENG A1 SL --6
ECO HL -- 6
PHY HL -- 6
MATH SL -- 6
ITGS SL -- 6
ARA B HL -- 7

TOK B ---- EE C
