They cover similar issues, but operate with a different focus (i.e. management vs analysis) - which is why many schools offer both.

Sciences Po. Seems like a very interesting school, they have great speakers from all over the World etc.

What course are you in for at Sciences Po. Also what is your profile?

Yah i think its great too but UCL is top 5 in the country and worldwide, plus its a 1 year course as opposed to 2 years. I am graduating this year from Durham. I studied English Lit, French and History of Art. The course at Sciences Po is International Public Management. And yourself?

I also have Sciences Po offer in Master course in International security for 2011/12. I think the disadvantage of this University is that it offers 2 year programs, while I can do my master during one year, and start to build career another year. One question that disturbs me: will it add value more to spend 2 years at Sciences Po than one year in other prestigious universities in England?

Same course for me!

I want the two years. I will already have two years professional experience in my field before I start so I am not that bothered about taking two years out. I want to really get to know the subject rather than packing everything into one year.

What is your profile by the way?

Unlike you I don't have permanent professional experience, and I am graduating this year from BA in International Relations.

Do you think that 2 years at Sciences Po will give you wider opportunities to explore subject rather than one year program?

What sort of work do you want to get into afterwards?

Send me your email and we can chat if you like, about Sciences Po and international work in general.

My initial career plan is to start working in diplomatic service or in international organizations.

Is Sciences Po your firm choice? what is the advantages of this institution from your point of view?

The fundamentals courses they teach give key skills for working in international organisations that are not offered on other similar courses.

Furthermore you have a summer between years to do an internship...some of the bigger INGOs have a requirement that you are currently enrolled in a masters programme when you are doing the internship.

IN the end though the degree itself will not really contribute to plans to enter work in an international organisation as all of the jobs ask for at least two years international work experience.

Hi Everyone,
I am an engineering graduate and I have received offer from UCL for MPA program. The total program will cost around 35000gbp.

Would it be good and feasible to study MPA from UCL by financing my study on education loan? Rate of interest on education loan is 12%?

Hey guys,

I'm brazilian and just graduated in Law School, focusing in Public Law, especially Environmental Law, and with a minor in International Politics. I'm very interested in this discussion as I just got accepted to MEM program at Yale's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and Environmental Policy in the Paris School of International Relations at Sciences Po. While the first one offers a Policy track, I'm more enclined towards Sciences Po as it is in IR and I want to work with international environmental policy. Do you have any thoughts?

Thanks,
Anna Maria

You know that the thread is more than 6 years old right? I highly doubt any of them are on this forum anymore.

Sciences Po, definitely. And don't forget to ask for accommodation at the Cité Internationale !

Hi Everyone,

I'm interested in pursuing a career in technology policy and was recently admitted to the 2 year MPA program at the LSE. That said, does anyone have any thoughts on the specializations offered by UCL's MPA's, such as the Digital Technologies and Policy MPA? I'm hoping to enroll in a dual-degree program through the LSE for my second such as SIPA's (they offer a technology MPA stream), however, I'm wondering if pursuing a degree from UCL would be better in the long term? I appreciate any thoughts!
