on an application form for a job, I'm asked to indicate my expected salary...I feel cheeky asking! What should I put? It's to help in a shop part-time, so would presumably pay by the hour
    Thanks in advance!

I would ask if you have any friends who work in shops how much they earn.

hmmmm, well I think it ranges from about £4.50 - £5.00, although one person gets £9.00!! Maybe as an average, £4.75? But wouldnt it look a bit pretentious to put an exact figure?...ahhh!! (I think i worry too much sometimes )

Put £4.70 then but state that you would be willing to negotiate if you were offered lower.
