I am hoping to go to oxford in october if my results come out right and i am the sporty type so i was looking into the pulse gym and the information on the net is quite bad. how much does membership cost? how much is it then per visit? this is the sort of thing i would like to know but isn't online so if an current oxford student could shead some light on this it would be great, even if you just know round about prices, cheers.
This year it was a one off payment of £40 and then you had unlimited access. Don't see why that would change. That's for a reasonably well equipped but basic gym: treadmills, bikes, rowing machines and those weird step machines. Plus about 5/6 weights machines.
Other facilities: the swimming pool is another £60 per year; for the power lifting room another £60 again. There are loads of other facilities I think you can book...not sure how much they cost though.
I don't think so. You can hardly argue it's an essential academic facility, nor one that's going to be universally used, so it makes sense to charge for it. At the same time, £40 a year is very cheap: I think some gyms charge that much per month!
