Did A-Level Italian, good language to learn if you are willing to make mistakes We didn't really use many textbooks except "azione gramattica" for grammar, and "crescendo" for excercises. Our A-level course was less book based, and more learning it from talking to the teacher, writing, and reading/discussing articles from Italian magazines/newspapers. Hope this helps.

I would recommend 'Azione Grammatica' as well..it's quite a thorough book
