    Why do the spanish write: JJ.OO for Juegos Olímpicos, or CC.OO for comisión obrera, or FF.CC for Ferro Carril, or EE.UU for Estados Unidos.

    Nobody seems to know why. They say it's a rule, but can't remember why exactly.
    Be interesting to know, as it still looks and sounds stupid to me, always has done.
