H&M where I am is cheap and as good quality clothes as any other shop but a lot of designs arent great and I only go there for plain stuff. Also the shop is a mess but hey it might be completely different in Manchester. Also stuff like M&S, BHS, always do decent polo shirts and plain stuff. for designer, ebay is your only cheap option, there are some american power sellers that will get you diesel, guess, energie, stuff like that for quite a low price (including p+p which is quite a lot). Much less than £25-£50 youll see in the shops

I think I saw the TK Maxx/Primark when I was in Manchester for my interview. I know some ppl hate it but I really think that TK Maxx is genius, I would happily buy everything I need from it. I've actaully bought things that are too big from there before and shrunk them just cos it would save me money  That makes me sound like such a tramp but I like to save my money for more important things. ie booze
People say H+M sells cheap quality stuff, but when i went the other day it was full of crap and no way as good as stuff from Top Man or River Island. I suppose you could just buy all your stuff in the sales, either at home or Manc, especially places like Next which have some good buys.

Top man and river island are more on the button in terms of fashion. However, often you have to put more effort into your shopping in order to find bargains of the latest fashions. This may invovle digging thru over filled H&M shops, or going thru many many rails in Tk maxx, but also going in shops like USC, etc checking for reductions, this combined with ebay helps. Topman isnt expensive by anymeans its kind of mid-range in my book, but for the latest stuff its often not cheap.

You only get what you put in, if you walk in any old shop, pick something off the shelf, and walk out... youll generally pay for the priveledge.

For mens stuff you might also like to try: republic, officers club, USC, debenhams, Blue Inc and Envy

oh my god I we4nt in topman today, it has the gayest stock ever. all this "fashionable" pretty boy stuff. about a wuarter of the tops were PINK, yes plain PINK, PINK SHOES, pink vests, I swear they might as well call it topshop cos lets be honest.. what MAN wears all this pink garbage (especially shoes.. wtf). then again this is in brighton.. har har har

sorry just had to get it off my chest.

I've noticed that all clothes shops have gone really 'gay'. When I was looking for shirt and tie for my Leaver's do all Nexts nice shirts were mostly pink. And you never really see many guys wearing pink so ppl musn't be buying it, so why sell it? I don't get it

i'm gay and i even think they've gone "gay"- dunno what the shops r thinking; they seem to b campin it up big style!
Now I need to defend H&M. Its all about getting used to it, normally it is pretty messy, at the minute bit of nightmare cos of the sale, but I got a new blue jacket for £7.50.

It just takes a bit of getting used to

I went to primark yesterday and I bought: new boots, new skirt, new top and a five pack of socks and spent..... £29!! Normally i'd spend that on the skirt alone. Some of the stuff in there is really nice. (and owing to my £300 credit card bill right now i need to spend less!)
