Does anyone know if open days are only carried out in the summer for med, or do universities do other open days later on in the acedemic year?

Also, are open days that important to attend? I know they show you around and get to know more about the course etc...

    Thanks to all who reply.

Open days usually take place a couple of times a year. Best to check the websites of the universities you'd maybe want to visit as I think most (if not all?) have their open days for the whole institution and not just the medical school. Open days are only as useful as you make them. I only went to one (Oxford) and didn't find it much help but it's a good chance to look at the area and talk to current students.
