Guy wearing women boots - yay or nay?

Anon or delete please. This is a potentially embarrassing topic (quite a few male friends on here) and therefore I put it here instead of the fashion board.

Long story short: my girlfriend tried to convince me how "comfy" riding style boots were and I doubted it. She had a pair of mid-calf riding boots she wasn't wearing often anymore (so I could 'stretch them out') and made me to try these on. They had a low heel, about 1 inch (basically the same as men business shoes I reckon).

After having worn them a couple of minutes inside she even made me wearing them when we went to the Sainsbury's next door (I'd do almost everything for her - maybe except wearing heels ). Despite them being too small (though her UK 8 almost fit my UK 9-9.5, weird), I found them quite comfortable: a thin sole, me being slightly taller than usual and soft leather around your feet and lower calves that kept them warm.

My gf told me that they looked good and I should wear them more often. I will not as they're too small to wear them for more than a half an hour or so, but I'm thinking about buying a pair of boots myself. Most men boots I've seen are rather bulky, heavy and quite uncomfortable, so shall I go for a "conservative" pair of women's boots? I'd never tuck my jeans in them or so and the type I'm interested in (black, <=1 inch heel, nothing fancy) doesn't look to feminine, does it? Have a look at the photo and please tell me what you think. Could a straight, quite average guy, not wearing skinny jeans or something, wear them without most people actually noticing that these might not be men or unisex boots?

I'm probably making a too big deal out of it because men are not supposed to wear women's clothes/shoes. Yes, I'd fear negative looks and comments.

(My feet look rather small in them)

I'm pretty sure they do men's riding boots. Those look ridiculous imo. Stick to men's riding boots and you shouldn't have a problem!

That looks absolutely awful if I'm honest. Leave the girls boots to the girls.

Nay, sorry, try to find some guy ones!

Don't do it.

I don't like the new trend of guys wearing boots over jeans either. Yuck.

They dont look amazing in that pic but in general theres nothing wrong with wearing womens shoes. I have a fair few items of clothing that are technically womens clothes but you wouldnt know, nobody has ever said anything and if they did I wouldnt mind anyway.

I wouldn't ever wear boots over jeans, it just look silly. Fortunately I see more and more girls wearing their skinny jeans over their boots.

She was a bit tipsy when she suggested it. that being said, she seems to like leather quite much (wears leather boots almost all the time, I've never seen her in a non-leather jacket and she has at least one pair of leather pants, too). Maybe she's just hinting at me wearing more leather...

So what's the problem? Don't they look manly enough? Too small? Are they too pointy?
Maybe I should have one more look into Men's (riding) boots then. But the ones I've seen so far (at affordable prices, <£100) were always so bulky.

You can tell they're women's boots.

Something like this (in black) is actually quite nice, but I don't like the ones you've posted.

Thanks for your advice! I'm not too fond of the upper part, but the lower half of these boots look quite good. It seems there are actually some more manly boots that look good.

Deffo nay, I'm afraid. They look too narrow and petite.
